Facts about International Liberty School
Located in the heart of New Alexandria, International Liberty School is a private, for-profit school that strives to be an inspiration for education and learning to the entire country of Egypt, just as the leaders of this new nation look to rebuild and recreate. ILS represents the symbolic bridge from today to tomorrow and from young to old.
The school was first founded in 2008 as an American School and was accredited by the CITA in 2009. The first two years of the school included only 3 grade levels with thirty five students, and it has been growing consistently. Now, International Liberty School has all grade levels starting from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. Currently it’s embracing approximately Six hundreds American Divisions' students.
In 2008, the size of the school was 4200 meters. In 2014, it increased to be 6475 meters. In 2015, the final expansion of the school came to be 7825 meters with a huge extension of a new building that includes all the facilities and technologies that serve all the students' needs.
In 2014, the school was accredited by the AdvancED , and is licensed by Cambridge along with the Egyptian Ministry of education. Consequently, in 2015, the School started two further Divisions– the British and National Divisions- reaching nearly thousand Students in all departments.
Our student capacity per class is 20:1 (International) and 25:1 (National), with a class limit of 25 - 28 students as maximum in each class respectively. This applies on all the different school’s stages.
Believing that education forms the very essence of all our actions and that what we do is what we know and have learned, either through instructions or through observation and assimilation, the school's owner exerts too much effort and works hard to achieve growth, excellence and development.
The school administration in return hires new highly qualified staff as the number of students increases every year. ILS is committed to offer each student a quality education in a safe and supportive environment that encourages self-reflection, self-discipline, collaboration with others, and excellence in learning.
Teachers at ILS provide learning activities carefully designed to nurture curiosity for learning, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. Teachers develop personal relationships with students by understanding their different learning styles and developmental needs, and adapt their instruction to insure academic and social-emotional growth for all students.
ILS offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities including music, drama, foreign language, remedial English, Student Council, homework support, charity club, “brain bowl”, chess, year-book, soccer, basketball, and swimming, in addition to journeys, trips, excursions and fun events.
